Every year the 36 days of Type challenge helps designers put on their creative hats to use. This year, I decided to join this bandwagon. Being my maiden challenge, I let loose to explore 3D form, texture and colour without any boundaries or restrictions. The final outcome resulted in a family of unique letterforms.
Juan Kafka, is an incredible type designer and educator who provides scholarships every year to 5 deserving BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and people of colour) students to support inclusivity and end racial injustice to learn type design at the prestigious The Cooper Union in New York, USA. I created a visual using my 36 days of type to help his cause gain traction. My letterforms aligned beautifully with his vision to celebrate the unity and uniqueness of every human.
