Exploring the idea to visually communicate and document 'taste', the project was titled 'Ageusia' referring to loss of taste in Latin. The parameters were set by conducting a collaborative workshop for research and analysis since the topic was extremely subjective in nature. Visuals for sweet, sour, salty, bitter and umami were juxtaposed with complimenting sounds to achieve a multi-sensorial feel and bring life to these forms. The outcome gives space for endless opportunities, one such wherein you could visualise a restaurant menu. The cumbersome first time process of selecting a wine or a cheese is supported by offering an immersive visual experience making it a treat for the eyes as well!
Done as a part of the 'Lost in Translation' elective, while being an exchange student this year at Zurich University of the Arts, Switzerland.
